Post-post-post punk van de bovenste plank. Mugger Hugger, een frontale botsing tussen PJ Harvey en Sonic Youth, vond zijn roots in Antwerpen. Zanger/bassist Dora Brams’ Harveyesque stemkleur ebt over een oneindige gitaarsolo die moeiteloos vloeit uit Midas Heuvinck’s vingertoppen terwijl Simon Pas zijn unieke mathematical nonchalance drumt. Een nieuw jong en rebels geluid uit Antwerpen. Innovatief, maar toch bekend.
Post-post-post punk. Mugger Hugger, a name as obscure as their sound, can be described as a youthful collision between PJ Harvey and Sonic Youth. Singer/bassplayer Dora Brams’ Harvey-like vocals rolling over an ongoing guitar solo that flows effortlessly from Midas Heuvinck’s fingertips as Simon Pas drums his unique brand of mathematical nonchalance. A new young and rebellious sound from Antwerp. Innovative and familiar at the same time.
